Happy Wednesday!
Short and sweet this week as I don't have much to show you... more a plea for advice!
You know when you confidently say "oh yes, i can do that...." and then realise halfway through that maybe you um...well.... can't? The 'thing' you can see on the desk today is the start of a London/Jubilee project. I like it so far (paper napkins on chipboard with a wash of gesso over to tone the colour down) but now I'm a bit stuck. I know there will be crowns and bunting, and I have plenty of images........but can't seem to get started!! Any ideas folks?
hope you all have a fab Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday.......and please pop over to the hostess with the mostess Julia to start the most fun blog hop of the week!
Love Trish xxxxx
Morning Trish. You seem to have all the elements on your desk to create something Fab. My tip is start with a string of bunting and see where it leads. look forward to seeing the result. WOYWW Hugs to you Helen 34
ReplyDeleteI second starting with a string of bunting. I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with.

A calm but creative desk! Have fun this week hugs trace x 20
ReplyDeleteWhat often helps me in situations like this is to let go of the end result and simply ask myself what I want to do NEXT. This can just be a little step. Maybe you want to add one image, maybe some paint. Just do something, because the funny thing is that often when you just do what you want to do next the step after that will somehow reveal itself while you're working. At least that's how it works for me.
ReplyDeleteYour work is always so gorgeous I know you'll get there in the end. I'm very much a start and see where it goes kind of crafter, I don't really do planning. Good Luck, can't wait to see the end result. #97
ReplyDeletelove the start of the project anyway! I am sure you will find inspiration... have a great day, Helen at 4.
ReplyDeleteYeah I think you're already doing grand, like the ladies above say I reckon a string of bunting will set you on your way! Take care & enjoy WOYWW. Zo xx 66
ReplyDeleteHope you get an idea to soon to finish off what looks like a great project to do. Happy Crafting Jill #62
ReplyDeleteStamp some sort of random BG, spray inks & then write down (on scrap)what London/Jubilee means to you. Then start collaging the images onto the BG. Lay the bunting around once the images are stuck on and then add the crowns & other bellies. I'm great at telling OTHER people what to do but useless at doing it myself!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteAnother desk with handy plug points, great.
I will pop in when I am next over Cleveleys way, I am only in Rossendale and we have a ride out sometimes.

One I made earlier today
Looking very interesting so far... hard to advice others. I love the muted background but it probably needs something strong somewhere to make it pop... some metal, or rusty perhaps? (I'm thinking Callico crafts here obviously). Anyway, good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW and have fun hopping!

I have a fab image of the queen(wax works image).Maybe something with a crown..? Palace?
ReplyDeleteAnother one in favour of bunting! It'll be fab whatever you do :) Di xx
ReplyDeleteAh, it's looking good already. here's my advice, and it's worth nothing, frankly...don't be afraid of white space and remember you don't have to use every image just because each one is relevant.....a rown of buses/taxis will probably have greater impact than a scattering of UK icons..for example.
ReplyDeleteBut, have fun..and make two - you'll not want to give it away after you've invested in it!
You've got the great start to your project and lots of fab things to chose from. I read what others had to say being rather clueless on what to do next myself. I like the idea of stringing your row of bunting down next so you get an idea how much space that takes up and what space you have left. Don't force yourself to use everything if it isn't working out that way. Or go ahead and use it all up if it works that way. So I guess my advice is to fiddle with it and see what comes of it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like my younger sister in the old days... she had lots of nerve... always used to say "fake it till ya can make it" when going for job interviews and...always getting any job she went after..... including window dresser for a posh ladies wear shop..... sigh....wish I had half her nerve. Then and now. Now, she is selling million dollar yachts.....

Thank you for visiting my desk - I like the bunting idea - perhaps use Kraft colour card and ink up edges of what you have already done to tone in - or just black and white images Jacqui #136
