I had a few bits and pieces on my workdesk, extra bits that had been cut off other projects. I thought I'd see if I could put them together to make a simple little card......
The pink background is a dollop of paint that I've blasted with some compressed air to 'splat' it out in all directions. Then it was a simple case of adding a scrap bit of die cut washer background that had a tiny bit of text paper stuck to it, a bit of ric rac and a tiny twisted bit of fabric. The stamped heart was stapled with 'kisses' to go with the love theme..... This took minutes to make but I actually rather like it!!
I'm linking up with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge , the theme is 'anything goes' this week!

Shy?
Hello!
This is the tag I started yesterday.....I'd just about got up to the bubbly harlequin bit! Now its all finished..
Turquoise splats, stamping and printing, then I added a few black dots for detail....
The image is from Octopode Factory, and the word is Idea-ology....
Less colourful from me today, although the lilac base coat shows up a bit more in real life! Experimenting with colour combos, that's the plan!!!

WOYWW164!
Happy Wednesday!!
It's the middle of the week...so that means some serious blog hopping!!! Julia is our wonderful hostess over at The Stamping Ground for this fab trawl through the crafty desks around the world!
My desk this week..
Very very messy, but very busy too! School holidays actually mean MORE studio time for me....no school runs and a burning desire to escape from the kids!
The tag you see is the start of something I'm just playing with...for me!! No reason, just because.....the best kind of crafting! I've scraped a thick layer of acrylic paint through a stencil, and dried it with a heat gun. This makes the paint bubble and gives the most fab texture...
Sponging the paint doesn't give you a thick enough layer...you really need to scrape it on!!!!
Tag will be finished later and I'll show you tomorrow what it turns out like!
My DVD giveaway is still open.....closing date is August 5th, so still time to enter if you havent done so already! Click the link at the top right on the sidebar for all the details!!!!
Hope the sun is shining wherever you are today!

Guilded Kraft Glassine....
Over at Studio L3 this week, the challenge involves creating a piece of guilded Kraft Glassine.... a totally fabulous technique, straight from the book Compendium of Curiosities 2 by the one and only Tim Holtz!! You'll need to grab a copy to see exactly how its done though, not my place to explain here :)
I've used my guilded glassine as a focal circle in this panel...
I coloured the card using Dylusion inks, then added lots of stamping and printing...
The glassine was die cut into a circle shape, and placed so my figure (Zettiology) was highlighted...
I used a phrase from my stash of cut up novels...
I used blue and purple inks on the glassine, and highlighted with turquoise distress ink, to hopefully match up with the background colours!
Its a fab technique, so if you have the instructions why not have a go! Annnnnd...if you enter it into the challenge you could win a $25 gift certificate from the Funkie Junkie Boutique! How cool is that!!!

Alone.....
Which is actually the total opposite of my life right now....all four little darlings (!!) are off school/college and are being rather noisy, messy etc etc. Alone? Oh how I wish I was......!
Anyway.....as escaping into the studio is now essential for the sanity, I have lots to show you! First this week is this colourful panel...hence the 'alone' title of the post!
I started off by glueing the text paper and washer border strip to the base card...
Then added some corrugated card...
Everything got covered with a wash of gesso, and i also scraped gesso through a bit of large hole sequin waste too...
Once all that was dry, I added all the vibrant colour you can see. A mixture of spray inks and watered down paint. Spray inks don't like to cover gel medium very well, so thicker paint was needed in some parts where the medium had escaped from under the text!
Stamping and printing using paint....
And then I added my image. This is probably one of my all time favourite feminine figure images, by Stamping Bella. (She actually has a little bird perched on her shoulder when stamped, I prefer it with the birdie cut off!)
Idea-ology letters form the word....
And that was it!!!
I love the hot summery colours, so I'm linking up with The Stamp Man Challenge -anything goes/summer colours this week, and as I have used my favourite feminine image stamp, I'm also linking up with The Simon Says Stamp And Show Challenge -Hey Girl
Thanks for looking!

woyww163 (again!!!)!
Happy Wednesday everyone!!!
Still rainy...still cold.....and only two more days before the children break up from school and need to be entertained! arrrggghhh.......
But before all that....my desk today... (well, late last night anyway, its not going to change unless the tidy up fairies appear when i'm sleeping!!)
Apart from the paint, not a very 'me' desk! Pearls and pink flowery fabric????what??!!!
Just finished making another workshop sample.....
I'm going to try and ease the lovely ladies of Blackpool into torso assemblage gently.....via a pink and girly flowery theme.... Not 100% sure I like it really, but it is exactly what I had in mind for the class, so it'll do the job!
Well, thats me for today...why not hop on over to Julias place and check out the other 200 or so desks being shown today!!!
Oh and don't forget....have a little look at the top of the sidebar on the right! I'm having a little givaway featuring my new DVD.....Click the pic to see all the details, and feel free to share with your blogging buddies, you don't need to be a follower of mine to enter! *reminder- leave a comment on the giveaway post, NOT this one to be entered into the draw!*

Seashore tag...
Following on from yesterdays Calico Crafts DT project (Check out the Calico Crafts blog for a look! ), I've made a tag using the same techniques.
This one isn't a layout, so on a smaller scale!
Again, I've used the torn paper niche technique....
I've made a short tutorial on this technique, and I've posted it on the Calico Crafts DT blog so you can all pop over and see how that part was done!!
Once the niche was created, I glued lots of seashore type ephemera (and a bit of lace) onto the tag, then covered the lot with a layer of gesso. A wash of pale blue and turquoise paint went over the gesso, then I spritzed the lot with silver Glimmer Mist to give a bit of a shine!
A bit of text, and it was finished. I love using scrapbook papers in this way, the printed detail shows through the wash of colour and gives that extra bit of interest! The paper tag is really heavy as its now chock full of glued on shells and the like, so I've stuck it to a tag shaped piece of greyboard for extra strength.

Layered!
Over at Simon Says Stamp And Show this week, the challenge is layers. Just up my street!!
I've chosen not just to layer paint as I tend to do all the time, but to layer paper and card too...
Paint scraped over cardstock, then text paper sewed on. More paint, then a painty, stamped washer border strip was sewn on too...
For the final layer, I tore a rough heart shape from text paper, lightly splodged it with more paint, then sewed it in place....
A little phrase, then a smidge of outlining with a black pen, and it was finished!!
Lime, turquoise and purple, probably my favourite colour combo at the moment!

WOYWW163!
(hmmmm..... by my count its woyww162 not 3...maybe its just too early for counting!!)
Morning everyone!
Was snowed under last week so missed the regular Wednesday show and tell....but back in the swing of things this week!!!
Please hop on over to Julias place to peruse the long long list of brave crafters willing to share their crafty spaces!!
My desk this week is a busy one...
I'm busy kitting up for my class on Saturday.....
Its a Melt Art class, and we'll be doing some fun stuff with molten UTEE! The sample I'm kitting up for in the pic is this one...
A very simple tag to showcase two techniques, namely faux porcelain roses.....
and using UTEE in a mould to create embellishments....
We'll be doing lots more as well, so I'm looking forward to it!!!
Whilst I have your attention (!!).....have a little look at the top of the sidebar on the right! Christmas Workshop prototype....
Yes, ridiculously organised person here....... (or rather, make something fun right now, even though I have things to do that are much more urgent than Christmas!)
Wanted to do an 'odd' Christmas class.... as well as the usual jewellery gift classes and Christmas card classes, so came up with this..
This is prototype one...... there will be snow, glitter and a smidge of bling on there too I think. I also want to use the snowflake rosettes that Tim has just previewed, if I can get my hands on some in time! Have you seen them? cor, you really need to.... look here !! It says available in the fall, and this class is scheduled for November, so fingers crossed!!!!
The base is a papier maché cone, painted and stamped...
with metal wings given the same treatment....
Acetate with white stamped stars at the moment.....(hopefully to be Tim snowflakes!)
Very simple stamped face, not black though, it looked too harsh. Midnight blue instead...
Quite simple really, but something a little different!!!!

DVD giveaway!!!
Hello there!
My copies of my just released DVD landed on my desk last week, so I thought it might be nice to do a little giveaway!
The lucky winner will receive this little lot.....
The first project that I show you on the DVD is a chunky canvas, in shades of green and turquoise, with red accents. So, I've included the basics for you to recreate the project as you watch! A 5x5" chunky canvas to begin with, then the three paints I use, plus the white paint for layering (well not exactly the ones I used, you'll get new ones!!)
I've included some punchinella to use as stencils..... Very hard to find large holes, tiny holes and some inbetween sized holes..... Three sponges too, and then of course there is the DVD itself!!!
What you you need to do to win? Easy peasy...just leave a comment on this post!
Important bits:
Only comments on THIS post will be entered...too complicated for me to go looking all over the place for your comment if you put it somewhere else!
You don't need to be a follower to enter, its lovely if you follow my blog, but not essential to win the prize!
The closing date for entries is four weeks from today...AUGUST 5th 2012.
On that date, I will pick a winner via an online random number generator, then inform the winner via a new post on my blog. It will be UP TO THAT WINNER to then send me their address so I can post out the prize!
Entries are very welcome from those who live outside the UK, but remember that this DVD is formatted to work in the UK. I have no idea whether it is compatible elsewhere, so no complaints if you win and then it won't work in your country!
The prize is exactly what you see in the pictures....I'm not changing or substituting! What you see is what you get!!
Good luck!!

CR84FN57- Colour Challenge!
Hi there!
You may remember pictures from last week, I was working on a colour challenge piece? Well, its done, and more importantly I like it! Which means I'll be linking up with all the other fabulous creations over at CR84FN with this one!
The colours we were given were bright pink, tan and neutral...... now bright pink is great, use it lots, but not really with tan or a neutral, so this was indeed a challenge. But thats the whole point, so I just got stuck straight in and made this tag.....
A typical Trish painty background with lots of layers, printing and stamping came first, done with the tan/neutral shades. I then coloured some texture paste with the bright pink, and added it through a stencil to give lots of texture...
I stamped my Stampotique image with brown ink onto cream cardstock, as this seemed to fit in with the theme better than my usual black and white! I stamped her again this time with bright pink ink, cut out the heart and pieced it onto the main image.....
A little pink paint around the edge of the tag to bring it all together, and its done!
Thanks for looking!
