Dream Big!

Morning!
This weeks Design Team project for Creative Expressions is a little bright...in fact, grab some sunglasses!
As well as the fabulous Art Houses stamp plate I've been playing with for the past couple of weeks, we were also given this wonderful embossing folder, Uber by Couture Creations. A great steampunky type look, but one that can also be used in non steampunk creations, the design is just so funky!
I'll show you what I did....
Firstly, cover some cardstock with Metal foil tape sheet (Ranger do a great one!), then colour with a mixture of pink and purple Alcohol ink, along with a dash of Snow Cap mixative. The white mixative makes the other colours 'pop', and gives a brighter look....
Once dry, emboss with the folder. You can just about see the design at this point!
Next, take a bit of steel wool, and gently sand the design. This will take the inks off the raised areas, revealing the shiny silver metal underneath...
I really love this effect!
I mounted my panel onto a piece of torn, corrugated card. I covered it with white acrylic paint first, and as this then acts as a coating to the porous cardstock, I was able to colour it with the same inks as before. I added a few black paint splats, and highlighted areas with silver paint....
The letters were cut using the wordplay die from Sizzix, again I covered the card with foil tape before I cut. Coloured using the alcohol inks, and stamped with a dotty stamp as well!
The hanger was created by adding large eyelets to the top of the panel, and twisting some wire through...
A nice bright piece to wake you up on a Friday morning!!!
Love Trish xxxx
