Craft Stamper Blog Challenge- Reminder!!!

The second Craft Stamper Blog challenge still has a few days to go...so why not have a play and join in!
A few of the design team have come up with some more designs to spur you on, have a little look here to see the new eye candy!
My contribution is this panel....
I created a painty background using turquoise, purple and white paint. I scraped texture paste through a stencil....
And did a little printing with white paint and lego pieces!
My ripped and torn aperture was backed with book pages as you can see, then coloured with a wash of turquoise paint. My figure peeking through the hole is a fab new image from Stampotique. I really like the dazed and confused 'what me?' kind of expression she has!
The figure was simply stamped onto white card, which was then adhered behind the aperture. I used my vintage typewriter to create the word..
I hope you like her...and I really hope you'll take a look at the Craft Stamper challenge and join in! We'd love to have you!

Waxy canvas!

Hello!
For my Creative Expressions DT project this week, I've made a canvas. Lots of flowers...
I've called it my 'waxy canvas' because there's a lot of beeswax on it! Not something that is obvious in pictures, but its there!
The flowers are from the gorgeous Heartfelt Creations plate " Mini Vintage Floret". I stamped each of the three designs onto cardstock that I had painted first. I used three colours of paint, Eco Green colours Ocean, Lime and Waterfall. Once stamped and cut out, I dipped each flower into melted beeswax. This gives a nice thick flower, with a matt finish. Very tactile!
The canvas itself was painted with the same three colours, along with a touch of white! Once dry, I added some white stamped tissue, using the fab chicken wire background. I also added the quote from the Special Sentiments Umount plate...
I stamped the flourish from the Funky Floral plate onto acetate, then added them to the corners of the canvas....
I added feet to my canvas too...rolled up spirals of paper covered with text paper....
A little door knob to the top, and it was done!
See you again next week with another flowery project!

Ten Minute Tuesday

Hello!
Vicki over at The Biskit Barrel has a great play along challenge on a Tuesday....simply share something you've created in just 10 minutes. Great for when you have just a smidge of time, with no concrete ideas of where your muse will take you! I just used up some stuff that was on my desk (instead of tidying it up, I used it again!!)
I cut some white card into a tag shape, then very quickly and randomly scraped red paint over it. Where it ended up fairly thick, I used the tip of my palette knife to score more random lines into it...
Once dried, I gently brayered with black paint, then used two stamps for some detail. A script stamp, and a circle stamp...
I had cut out the girl for something else, but decided to go with another image, so she was just waiting to be used! I placed her over the circle to give a halo effect....
The heart panel was a scrap of card left over from some punching. It got the same painty treatment as the tag, then I sewed it to a black scrap and glued it to the tag...
I really had fun with this, just using leftovers on my desk was very liberating! It normally takes me more than 10 minutes just to decide paint colours....
Hope everyone is having a nice week...hailstones and pouring rain here in Blackpool today, and an extra jumper needed for the school run! Flipping freezing!

Daisy!

(yes I know its supposed to be an aster....artistic license?!)
Hello! This weeks project for Creative Expressions features the same stamp I used last week. I wanted to show you just how versatile they can be, simply by switching colour schemes you get a whole new look....

The layout is very similar too, but just look at how a fresh and clean image can look against a grunged up tag!The daisy (or aster!) is from the Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters set, and was very simply stamped onto white card with black ink. I coloured the centre with yellow paint, then cut it out.
The tag background was created by scraping layers of paint onto the white surface. I used yellow first, then the blue. Once those layers were dry, I lightly brayered the surface with black paint.
A little painty stamping, namely the plaid background and the chicken wire background, then I splatted it with black paint!
I did a little stitching around the edge of the tag to frame it.....
and I also used some random stitching as the stem of my flower..
Some 3D letters formed the word, then it was done!
You may notice the orange bits...... this was an accident, the brayer got smeared with orange paint before I used it! Not what I had intended, but could have been worse!!!
See you next week with another make featuring these fab stamps!

Krafty Daisies!

Hello!
My Dt piece for Creative Expressions this week features these gorgeous daisy stamps by Heartfelt Creations (well actually they're called Asters..but I've never been one for knowing my flower species!!)
I've used them in a simple way today.... but brace yourselves for some all out flower explosions to come, these just lend themselves to being used LOADS on a project! Anyway, I made this.....
Very simple in terms of colour palette, and a nice simple background too!
I took a size 8 Kraft tag, and did some stitching around the sides, and a little in the middle..
I smeared cream paint in places, and splattered black paint over it. That's the extent of the background, told you it was quick!
There are four sizes of lower on the stamp plate, but I chose just three to use this time. I stamped them onto book pages using Archival ink, cut them out then adhered them to the tag...
The stem of the flower is twine, very in keeping with the Kraft look. I also threaded twine through the hole in the tag..
The final tough was a tiny Remnant rub on...LOVE these!!!
Hope you like it, a muted start to what will be a very colourful month with these stamps I think!!
