WOYWW140!!

Its Wednesday.......so its the marathon blog hop that is Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday!
Pop on over to Julias place to get all the info on how to join in, and to start your many many hours of nosy-ness, looking at other peoples workdesks! Its a wonderful way to spend the day!
My desk today is back to the messy side...... this is the aftermath of an inking session!
This all came about as a bit of a reaction to all the excited squealing going on in blogland just now, squealing at all of the new products coming out of the winter CHA show. Now, don't get me wrong, I love new stash as much as the next person, and some stuff looks very interesting indeed (!!), but I just thought it might actually be a plan to use more stuff I ALREADY have before planning any more spending!
So.....with that in mind I decided to start with inks. Inks that haven't been out of their drawer for months. My intention was just to play with the colours, and to see where that led....hence all the streaks of colour you can see on the paper I use under all my work! The result.....? Oh my are those inks colourful! Fabulous! So, what made those streaks? The squares I used for this......
Very Very simple.Smooth cardstock swiped with the ink pads, then overstamped with a background design. Punched out squares, then stuck to a white card blank. See what I mean about the colour?! Will DEFINITELY be using these lots from now on!
Last weeks felt necklace didn't get any further......working on a ribbon flower one instead now......BUT I do have a nice beady pic to show you!

Lots of nearly finished Shambhala bracelets. (That spelling is intentional....law suits are being bandied about all over the place if you use the 'other' spelling......as the word I used is a Buddhist word meaning 'pure land', no way can it be copyrighted!) They all need the ends trimmed and glued, that will get done in one big job lot! Bright and cheerful!

Thanks for looking....
Love Trish xxxxxx

  10. Lovethe card, and the beads although I haven't seen those before - by whatever name. I had a rich rust coloured Impress pad that I loved - pigment rich and very juicy - but for some reason it was the only one I had - Ranger (and Tim) taking over the world I suppose.
Hope you stick to your intention to use up what you have, I always start out that way but then I've no willpower so end up buying everything going.

  11. Big Ditto here...been looking at my dormant stash this week and giving myself a pep talk....great array of tones there - you are already set to go... It ain't how much you got, or the techniques but what you do with it all - so you will be just fine! Thanks for letting us look in and peek at your desk... Sarah at 7

  21. I love Impress pads (although I don't have quite as many as you) they are so vibrant and that's a fab card you've made with them.

  22. I'd say those pads are still quite inky!! What wonderful, vibrant colors. The card is great!

The bracelets are very cute -- isn't it silly about lawsuits these days? I mean, really? If it isn't destructive or demeaning then what's the big deal?

    Happy WOYWW

  25. It's so easy to get carried away with all the new stuff isn't it and forget about all the stuff we have isn't it. These inks are great colours, so vibrant. I love the way you've overstamped them.

  26. Yes, I'm having a tough time not wanting to buy SO many great things at CHA. I try to do a nice mix of using up my stash and then replacing it slightly with new stuff. At least, that's what I try to do! :) Love your bright card!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oooh yes, I'm trying to use what I have, but sometimes you just need something new, hehe! Happy WOYWW.

  30. Hi, Good idea to look at what you have and haven't used much - I think a lesson for me! (lol) Your card has turned out a treat- great colours and design. Love your S.....bracelets, not tried them myself but perhaps soon.

  31. got to agree with you about the hype surrounding launch of new stuff at CHA ... can't keep up with and decided there is no need as you have so beautifully shown with your coloured squares - the card is fabulous. Love your beaded bracelets too. Thanks for popping in and leaving a comment - it's much appreciated. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Elizabeth x #2

  32. I love your card (I will have to try your technique using ink pads).

The bracelets are gorgeous. I have a pile of beads and thread on my desk ready to make into 'the' bracelets.

  33. Inks! Embarrassing how many I have. In fact I have the entire fluid chalk ink line, and re-inkers, and the colours are amazing, but I am ashamed to say I hardly have used them for...well probably 8 years! Once stitches is out of the way I am pulling them out to play!
